The “AI for Democracy” initiative is already working intensively on IT systems to identify and visualize right-wing populist and right-wing extremist actors on the internet and their networking. Various AI applications are used for this purpose. The initiative receives great support from the University of Hamburg and Nordakademie, which strongly support the technical development. As a result, AI for Democracy benefits from the great expertise of these universities and is able to quickly pilot initial solutions. Since an enormous amount of data from right-wing populist and right-wing extremist statements from the German internet alone has to be analyzed daily, the development of the IT and AI systems is extraordinarily demanding.
